Transitions heading to the dominant
of the new key, after initial destabilization are very common around 1800.
It is also very common that the dominant of the new key finally is confirmed
by an altered chord. Compare for instance the transition
in het second movement of Mozart's Jupiter Symphony. Or: the transition
in the first movement of Schubert's 5th Symphony.
